EPB has received a $1-million investment from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to continue the Home Energy Upgrade (HEU) program that provides no-cost, no-gimmick Home Energy Upgrades to qualifying homes in our community. Energy-saving enhancements could include HVAC, water heater, insulation, window/door, and air sealing improvements!
Since launching as a pilot program in 2015, the Home Energy Upgrade program has provided customers living in 165 limited income households with upgrades that have reduced energy usage and significantly enhanced quality of life.
HEU recipients have realized average household energy usage reductions of about 26%, exceeding the program’s goal of 20% reductions. Additionally, many report improved health, comfort and quality of life including the ability to apply their savings from reduced utility bills to other household needs.
With additional funding from TVA, EPB and its contractors will perform upgrades on over 90 homes this year.
1. You must live in the EPB service territory
