Local job creation

Investing in what creates jobs today and opportunities tomorrow.

Helping drive job growth—and preparing Chattanoogans to fill those roles—is a key part of our mission. By using our 100% fiber optic network to provide the world’s fastest community-wide internet and America’s most advanced and automated power grid, EPB attracts new businesses to our area and helps established businesses grow. Combined with financial incentives for businesses, plus competitive electric rates, we set the stage for companies and careers alike to thrive.

Supporting an educated workforce.

EPB partners with schools, colleges, and job training programs to help prepare people for careers in energy, tech, and beyond. This commitment to workforce education begins early with HCS EdConnect powered by EPB, a partnership with Hamilton County Schools that provides eligible students access to high-speed internet at no charge. Other programs like SPARK, ArtSpark and the EPB Institute of Technology and Networking help students discover and pursue their interests in science, tech and creative careers.

Maintaining a level playing field.

Local suppliers deserve fair and equal opportunities. That’s why we invest about $10 million each year with local small businesses, including veteran-owned, women-owned, minority-owned and local homegrown companies. Our goal is to work with the best—vendors who deliver exceptional quality, competitive pricing, reliable timelines, and outstanding service. If you’re a business owner, we’d love to Learn more about your products or services, pricing, capabilities, and references so we can explore how we might work together.
