Indigobush

Amorpha fruticosa

A hardy native shrub with airy foliage and striking purple flower spikes that bloom in late spring. Indigobush thrives in a wide range of conditions and is often used for wildlife habitat and erosion control.

• Water Use: Medium. Once established, it tolerates drought surprisingly well despite naturally occurring near rivers and streambanks.

• Soil Moisture: Adaptable to moist soils. Performs especially well in areas that experience occasional flooding.
